The dream life of Ananya

My dream life is this :) If I live in a hut , this is what my routine would be. I'd wake up in the morning , arrange the previous nights washed dishes , go and sprinkle water all over and put designs (rangoli) then make tea and serve it .I would fetch water from the well and near the well I'd do some gossiping .I'd come back make breakfast serve it and then start cooking the lunch. While the rice is getting cooked , I'd dust , sweep and mop the house. I'd finish the cooking serve it , have it and have a little cat-nap.I'd wake up early and wash the dishes and the clothes , and hang the clothes for drying .Then I wld go , fetch fire wood for a long time, come back and fold the clothes.Arrange the dishes back in their places , start cooking dinner. After serving , I'd wash the dishes and make everybody's beds and go to sleep and relax :)

PS...typed by me while madam dictated. Not one word of the above is mine :)
Ananya is 10 yrs old and is presently in the 6th standard whose dream is a village life :)
She is my 'terror' of a niece ;-)
She insisted on me posting her dream and is looking forward to the comments :))

Hi Shree,

I have not yet read the post, but read the title though. I immediately recollected these verses:

Ananyas Chintayanto mam, yejana paryupasathe
tesham Nttyabhi Yuktanam, Yogaksemam Vaham Yaham

Its a verse from the Gita.

Will read the post now.

Hee hee,

What do I say.....

Can she really do all these if she were to be given a chance?

But its a healthy life with lots of physical activities. Given a chance, I would try it though. I prefer conventional ways of doing things (drawing water from the well, ammi-kal etc.,).

I very much dbt it , V. Its just a fantasy and when she grows up her priorities wld change I guess.

Yes :)Its def healthy and wld be a great change :)

btw ,V ...this reminds me of something I read a long time back. Itseems its second nature for girls to play with dolls and kitchen stuff and for boys to play with cars and guns .In a study when girls were given cars and the boys kitchen stuff..they initially played with them as they are meant to be but after a while , the boys started pushing the cups and bowls like cars and the girls started using the little cars for their 'cooking' :)
I guess this explains A's dreams :))

A perfect life to dream of!! If she can do it she would be the happiest of all. But alas ... this world is very cruel .. the moment you are happy someone would come n make you a reason to cry!! On my behalf ask her to remember this dream forever and try to live as close to it as she can!!

Yes its a simple life that just aims at being happy and one which gives absolutely no importance to material aspects.

But alas ... this world is very cruel .. the moment you are happy someone would come n make you a reason to cry!! //

On my behalf ask her to remember this dream forever and try to live as close to it as she can!! //

Oh really? Wonder why this is so?

On the same lines, I opine that Mothers make good teachers than their male counterpart. Mothers have a natural tendency to teach. She has patience, wisdom etc. etc., (The list is endless). Thats why they say " Maatha, Pitha, Guru, Dhaivam "

Oh... this child fantasies will change over time. But if she can hold on to the essence of what she says now... in whatever kind of life she leads in future, it will be fine.

Its just my interest in genetics raises one question. Your niece in this pic and the little niece kid in "The drinks on me tonight" post have similar eyes. right?! or are they just the same kid?

if she can hold on to the essence of what she says now... in whatever kind of life she leads in future, it will be fine.//
yes..I think a great deal depends on the kind of crowd u move in. Its essential to hold on to our innate taste in the way we want to lead our lives :)

right?! or are they just the same kid? //
my my , Thiru....u really r observant.
they are sisters....Ananya is older and the other one ( in 'the drinks on me' ) is Shreya :) They look very much alike :)

THIRU

Hey Thiru...

"Oozhayum uppakkam kaanbar uzhaivindri thaazh aatrubavar"

meaning, one can overcome fate if she/he works hard with perseverance.

Although I agree with second half of this couplet, I can't accept the first half wherein Thiruvalluvar endorses fate.//

ur comment from my previous post.

I found this Kural in "Aalvinaiyudaimai" (vidaa muyarchi udaimai)

Interpretation by Namakkal Kavinjar:
'manam thalaraadhu idaividaadhu muyarchi seigiravargal oozhvinaiyaiyum vendru vida mudiyum'

exactly what u have given in English.

Ya..I think it means 'fate' because I checked the meaning for 'oozhvinai' in 'oozh' and it talks so much about chance.
The whole chapter talks about how luck and fate are inevitable.( I am a bit disappointed by that chapter.)

You are right , Thiru. My assumption is wrong.

epporul yaar yaar vaai ketpinum apporul meiporul kaanbatharivu

yaar yaar vaai ketpinum...! even if it is from Thiruvalluvar vaaiyilirunthu ketpinum !! (Though I have great respect for his work)

no one is infallible!

In a way I believe the word fate itself needs to be redefined in relation to free will and other circumstances.

CURIOUS

Hello...
How are u ?

...we loose all those beautiful thoughts and opinions le... //
yeah..what u say makes absolute sense.
when she said..."and I'd do a bit of gossiping near the well.." I was really amused.
I mean how many of us wld agree that we'd enjoy a bit of gossip :)
and after she was done she started with..
"the next day morning , I'd wake up..." and started the whole thing :) It was fun to see that she looks at life like one simple fare..no ups and downs...just one happy routine :)

that...! sigh sigh.. :( Eli vaal jadaiya vechindu naalaam suthindruken! :) //
as long as our hair is in our mother's care...none of us have 'eli vaal'. Only when the responsibility is shifted to us , we see 'eli vaals' and 'pig tails' :)
( sari..Neelibringhadhi try panni irukela?
Kottakkal Vaidhyasala la kidaikkum)

It was fun to see that she looks at life like one simple fare..no ups and downs...just one happy routine :)" --> Did you know that Kids have the highest stress levels among humans...
